About Us

Drawn together by their endless curiosity to challenge and advance society’s understanding of the impossible, Jacques Laramie, Nathan Taylor and Chris Wlezien rallied together and Skydra was born. With such a diverse and wide variety of past experiences between the three of them, each team member not only brought a unique perspective to the project but also a complementary approach to problem-solving; critical in any great team.

All though the team members are split between two cities, Chicago and Boston, Skydra is officially headquartered in Chicago’s premiere, 63,000 square foot co-working space, mHUB. There the team has access to ten state of the art professional grade fabrication labs which allows them to prototype quickly.

ABOUT TEAM LEADER

Jacques Laramie has spent the last decade working professionally as an industrial designer. He has had many opportunities to explore and support a wide variety of industries while personally contributing to a broad spectrum of projects from conception to production. Recently, Jacques started Enlighten Enterprises Inc., and is working on creating connected ecosystems for the modern world.

Nathan Taylor is the team member with the highest academic accolade having recently received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Nathan lives and works in Cambridge, MA where he is a Lecturer in Engineering Sciences at Harvard University.

Chris Wlezien is a design engineering consultant with a diverse background in technical problem solving, prototyping and program management. He has over a dozen patents and has created products ranging from very low volume construction equipment to high volume complex injection molded plastic parts. Chris’s biggest passion is pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
